About the role

We are seeking a front-end mobile engineer to join our team and help take on a new initiative for Circle. As part of our mobile team, you will work on our React Native iOS and Android apps, bringing our platform to life for our users.
In this role, you will collaborate with our leaders, designers, and other engineers to develop new features and enhance existing ones, using modern technologies such as React Native, and TypeScript. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality mobile experiences that meet the needs of our growing community of users.

What you’ll be doing

    • Work mainly in our greenfield React Native project, with a lot of freedom on the overall architecture and tech stack.
    • Help build our mobile CI/CD pipeline.
    • Work on a frontend web application written in React.js, Ruby on Rails and Tailwind, when needed.
    • Improve the quality of our codebase, identify architectural deficiencies, and create achievable paths to solve/evolve them.
    • Work closely with Circle’s co-founders throughout the feature spec + design process.
    • Work closely with our designers to design and develop a world-class user experience.

What you’ll need to be successful

    • 5+ years of front-end experience designing and building high-volume, scalable SaaS applications from end-to-end. Strong proficiency in React and React Native, with Typescript and Java/Kotlin for Android are nice to have.
    • Experience with unit tests and CI/CD for mobile applications.
    • Experience leading/architecting complex user interfaces and API design.
    • Strong judgment and attention to detail when it comes to architectural, product, design, and process decisions. Your judgement should inspire a high level of trust within the team.
    • Multiple years of experience debugging complex issues; you can debug a mobile application problem all the way from the device, through the transport, to the application, servers, databases, and asynchronous queues.
    • A desire to work in an environment that values speed of iteration and individual autonomy.
    • Motivation to understand the business, our users, their requirements, and to deliver results.
    • Passion for continued learning and a track record of picking up new technologies and skills as you ship high-quality code.
$120,000 – $130,000 a year
Cash compensation shown is a starting point, and we want all of our team members to be able to grow in their roles. In addition to equity, benefits and perks, our cash compensation is subject to an annual review and increase on a once per year basis on the anniversary of your hire date.
