Responsibilities:

  • Technical and Team Leadership: Architect robust, scalable backend systems and manage a team of 10 engineers to foster innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement;
  • Talent Development and Recruitment: Identify team members’ strengths, provide coaching for growth, and ensure top-tier talent is hired and retained for a strong, cohesive team;
  • Project Management: Oversee backend project planning, execution, and delivery to meet quality standards, deadlines, and budget requirements, working alongside Product Management;
  • Collaboration and Communication: Serve as a bridge between the backend team and other departments, facilitating clear communication and collaboration across projects;
  • Innovation, Research, and Quality Assurance: Stay updated on software engineering trends, apply innovative ideas to projects, and implement best practices for code quality, security, and scalability;
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to aligning backend development goals with the company’s vision and objectives in the technology department’s strategic planning.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in back-end development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of Python, software architecture principles, and AWS infrastructure. Familiarity with containerization (Docker), CI/CD pipelines, and microservices architecture.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and grow teams of talented engineers. Strong project management skills and the ability to drive projects to completion.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of navigating complex challenges successfully.
  • A strong sense of responsibility: To respond promptly and effectively to any production environment issues.
